Ed Finkel is a writer, editor and Web content manager with 30 years of professional experience. His areas of concentration include education, health/medical, legal, the retail and food businesses, and public policy-related matters like civil rights and immigration.
Since his 1989 graduation from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, he has worked full-time as a staff writer for Chicago Lawyer magazine, assistant editor of The Public Innovator newsletter, managing editor of The Neighborhood Works magazine, and in-house editor at his alma mater, Medill.
Since leaving Medill for the second time to become a full-time free-lancer in 2002, Ed has written and edited content for independent consumer and B-to-B publications as well as those based at universities, associations and other non-profits. In addition to articles, he has written case studies and white-papers for foundation, corporate and other clients.
Ed has worked as a Web site editor and content manager both at Medill and more recently for LISC/Chicago. And he has served as a publications editor for the University of Illinois College of Medicine and the YGS Group.
